Let’s Play Hokitika - Kia Tākaro’s mission is to empower, enable, and inspire our community to build connections, community health and wellbeing through play.
We want to provide equal opportunities for all Tamariki to interact and learn in a physically challenging, inclusive, safe and free-play environment, irrespective of their age or abilities.
Our Team
We are a team of passionate parents who want to see the new Cass Square Playground upgrade serve the entire Hokitika Community, without putting strain on rates.
We want the playground to be resilient, last a long time, and cater to a wide range of demographics. The playground is for our future ratepayers, the children. It is also for seniors, teenagers, adults.
It is for international visitors traveling with their children, for grandparents spending quality time with their grandchildren. For adults wishing to stay active and use gym equipment freely.
The Cass Square Playground and recreational facilities are for everyone.
